Ariele has taught yoga since 2001, and was certified through the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health at the 200-hour level. She also served as a long-term volunteer at the Kripalu center. She holds two other yoga teaching certifications and is a full time student in a Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Ariele honors the many inspiring teachers with which she has studied, including David Swenson (Ashtanga), Cameron Shayne (Budokon founder), Amba and Don Stapleton (Nosara Institute), Swami Vivekenanda-Saraswati (Agama Yoga), and Simon Park (vinyasa, flying/acro- yoga). In the Kripalu tradition, which is especially close to her heart, she thanks Devarshi, Stephen Cope, Megha, Yoganand and many others who have dedicated their lives to the Kripalu tradition.
Ariele’s teaching style is influenced by the luminaries above and other studies (including classical Indian and modern dance, martial arts, anatomy, Anusara yoga, thai massage, mindfulness meditation, and Nonviolent Communication). In June of 2008, she began a Doctor of Physical Therapy curriculum at the Medical College of Virginia that is expanding her awareness of the human body and providing a highly detailed foundation for understanding movement.
Her vinyasa flow classes are grounded in the compassionate style of Kripalu Yoga, emphasizing safety and alignment within inspired, flowing movement. Ariele also teaches Yin, Gentle, and Restorative classes that will make you feel like you are walking on a cloud.
