Frank was born in Hungary in 1931. He attended University of Chemical Engineering and in 1956 he escaped from Soviet occupied Hungary. Immigrated to the US in 1957, he worked for a chemical company in Berkeley, California. After five years he switched to journalism then to publishing.
After temporary retirement he became a private investigator, still active in handling investigation of a variety of cases. He practiced and taught martial arts, earned his black belts in shotokan and kung fu.
